DART Paratransit Eligibility Information
DART is the paratransit program that operates within Fairfield and Suisun City. DART is reserved for qualifying persons with disabilities unable to board a FAST bus, access a FAST bus stop, or otherwise navigate the regular fixed route bus system due to a disabling condition as defined by the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). This does not include disabilities that only make using accessible fixed route bus service complicated or inconvenient.
The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) prohibits discrimination and ensures equal opportunity and access for persons with disabilities. The law recognizes that some persons with disabilities are not able to use fixed route services even when they are fully accessible. Complementary paratransit service was created to serve those persons with disabilities who cannot use fixed route systems.
People wishing to apply for the DART Paratransit program will need to schedule an in-person eligibity assessment. Every new or recertifying applicant must complete the in-person eligibility assessment process. In-person assessments are held once a week in Fairfield and/or Suisun City.
